The kids did really well in their Spring piano recital. They all prepared really well and memorized their difficult pieces. I was very impressed with their progress! The younger two got a medal for scoring 100% on their theory test. Nice work!

Spring Sports
This year we had a full schedule in the Spring with all the sports the kids were participating in. Mr. M and Lady K did track with their school. Mr. M placed 2nd in the district in high jump clearing 5'3''. He also participated in long and triple jump. Lady K did a number of different events, hurdles, 200, medley relay (100, 100, 200, 400), and 4x100 relay were her strong events. She placed 4th in the district in the 100 hurdles, was a member of the school-record-setting medley relay team placing 2nd in the disctrict (she ran the 200 leg), and really improved her times in all her events. Little L started out the season on a volleyball team but quickly realized that her skill level was far above that of the team and so we pulled her off and got our money back. J Man joined a flag football team and they were almost undefeated. He was one of the best on his team and learned a lot from their great coach! Baby R had her first season doing soccer and loved it! She was by far the quickest on the field with her long legs and speed! It was fun to see her out there doing her best!
Olympic Training Center
We went on a little family outing in the spring to the US Olympic Training Center. It was fun to see all the facilities and watch the special video they created. The kids had fun pretending to work out on the machines! Haha.
Old Fire Station
My brother Doug and his wife Cat gave us a fun Christmas present of tickets to a firefighters museum. A few months later we went to the station downtown that had been there since the 1800's. It was fun to see how they used to communicate and the old engines. The kids had fun getting dressed up and doing the interactive things at the museum. We had a great time!
When Dad Travels
Dad's work has him traveling about 25% of the time. He doesn't mind traveling, especially because he gets to eat out so much (something we hardly ever do.) When he is gone we Skype every night and he sends me pictures of three things: what he had for dinner, what his hotel room looks like and selfies. I love his passion for food!!

Never Fly With a Toddler!!
Dad had a recruiting trip to BYU last March and they wanted the spouses to go. I made the horrid decision to take Big B! He was terrible on every leg of the flight!! I thought I was going to die trying to keep him from screaming in the airplane (which he did a number of times!) It was fun to see our Utah relatives briefly and to hang out for a day at BYU. We were also impressed with the older kids taking care of themselves for the first time at home. It was a very memorable trip but for the wrong reasons!

Done with DIF!!!
In the post after this one there are pictures of our new home. Well, that was after the wallpaper removal and painting projects!! It was a lot of work!! We had to remove wallpaper from the entire front entry and hall, main bathroom, family room and kitchen. Then there was the wallpaper borders in the living room, dinning room and two of the upstairs bedrooms. After peeling off the paper we had to wash the walls and paint them all!! It was a lot of work but we are finally done. The ninety's had some pretty hideous wallpaper!!
| This is the wonderful chemical that made our wallpaper removal project possible. |
