Last week I took the three oldest to see the Hunt family perform. They are a family of musical performers from Virginia that was on a two month West Coast tour (we were their 52nd performance.) They all played multiple instruments, including violin, drums, electric guitar, bass, and keyboard. They all also do Irish step dancing (like you see in Riverdance) and some of them world class dancers. Not only that but they sing and compose a lot of their own music too. It was hands down the most entertaining performance my kids have been to yet. And, to top it off, we ran into our friends the Lemurts so they got to sit with friends.
It was so inspiring for them to see a family of seven up on stage, enjoying performing together. Their performances ranged from Irish songs and dancing to drum cadences and classic rock. My kids thought it was the best concert.
Lady K was invited to go up on stage and play a game. She was super excited about that. The kids stayed after the performance to get their programs signed, and our friends bought them a CD of the group which they listen to non-stop. It is so awesome to have such great opportunities for our kids just right across the street.
The kids went all out. I even got a trac phone so the kids can reach me in an emergency. Dad was right there coordinating the meals, dishes and made some delicious cookies!! Happy Mother's Day to meeeee!!!!
My husband's dad just got back from serving for over a year in Afghanistan. He is a doctor in the Navy and had a lot of amazing experiences there. As part of his vacation time he and his wife Brenda came out to see us. They drove all the way from Florida!! We had a great three days with them.

J Man learned to ride his bike this week. I think it took him about 15-30 minutes, no joke. He now cruises around our cul-de-sac constantly, whenever the sun is out. Here is a video of him making the loop.

These pictures are taken from the front porch looking out to the neighbors on the right. They had to take the trees down because there was a potential of them falling on our house. Very nice neighbors.
Last week the kids performed in the school talent show. Mr. M wowed the crowd with his "Video Game Master" on the piano and Lady K did a little dance with some friends to the old song "The Way You Do the Things You Do." They were so cute. Little L opted out because she gets really nervous performing. It was a fun night.
